My sister lives outside Weatherford, TX and just told me that the local Chevrolet dealer (Jerry Durant) had a fire that is being attributed to an electric vehicle that 'was left plugged in too long'. Anybody in that neck of the woods heard about this? A Volt fire would surely take some press attention off of Tesla, not that Jeremy Clarkson would mind either way...

No mention in the article as to cause.

The local news article . It doesn't mention a cause other than a car in a service bay. May be more of a service protocol failure if a Volt was involved.

That's what I'm figuring as well. My sis can be something of a rube sometimes. She initially told me it was "one of those 'smart' cars", lol. Thanks for the response.

You're welcome, wish I could get you more info but that's modern reporting. Wednesday? that's fresh enough.
